this commit also:
- slightly increases the rootfs size from 120M to 128M,
- unsets the rootfs tar archive which is not needed,
- removes rootfs.tar from board/pine64/rockpro64/readme.txt

Since Buildroot commit [1] "package/gcc: switch to GCC 14.x as the
default", pine64_star64_defconfig compilation is failing in
u-boot with error:
drivers/video/dw_hdmi.c: In function 'dw_hdmi_write':
drivers/video/dw_hdmi.c:81:42: error: passing argument 2 of 'writeb' makes pointer from integer without a cast [-Wint-conversion]
See build failure [2].
Upstream U-Boot includes a support for this board since commit [3],
first included in v2024.07.
Upstream Kernel includes a support for this board since commit [4],
first included in v6.11.
This commit switches uboot and linux from the repository
https://github.com/Fishwaldo
to their respective upstream sources.
U-Boot is updated from the fork from a v2021.10 base to v2025.10.
The Linux Kernel is updated from the fork from a v5.15.131 base
to v6.12.56.
While at it, this commit updates the defconfig to the new convention:
- It adds custom hashes and enables BR2_DOWNLOAD_FORCE_CHECK_HASHES=y
- It switches to a glibc stable bootlin external toolchain
Note that the upstream uboot defconfig name for the pine64 star64
board is starfive_visionfive2 (which is in fact another, but very
similar board). The detection of the board is made inside the SPL.
See [5].
Finally, switching to upstream uboot and kernel required few
adjustments:
- The genimage.cfg is updated to use the "u-boot.itb" file produced by
U-Boot,
- In genimage.cfg, the uboot partition-type-uuid is changed to
xbootldr (the genimage human readable name), to follow the
recommendation of the UUID to use from [5],
- In extlinux.conf, rootwait is added in kernel arguments,
- The post-build.sh script and the star64-uboot-fit-image.its file
are removed: they are no longer needed, since U-Boot and Binman
are managing everything,
- BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_SPL_NAME is updated in the defconfig, to reflect
the file name generated by U-Boot,
- BR2_PACKAGE_HOST_STARFIVE_SPLTOOL is removed from the defconfig,
it is no longer needed, since upstream U-Boot produces the file
at the correct format,
- BR2_PACKAGE_HOST_UBOOT_TOOLS is also removed from the defconfig,
it is no longer needed since U-Boot uses Binman,
- the defconfig is updated to include the new uboot requirements
(BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_{NEEDS,USE}_*),
- the pine64_star64_defconfig entry is removed from .checkpackageignore
it is no longer needed.
This patch was tested on a Pine64 Star64 board V1.1,
PCB revision: 0xc1, BOM revision: A.

Currently, the stmmac driver is configured as a module in the defconfig, which
means that the network functionality is not available until the driver module
is manually inserted.
Use extra config fragment to integrate it directly into the kernel, ensuring that network
functionality is available immediately upon boot.

This patch adds a new defconfig for the Star64 board made by
Pine64. This board is based on the Starfive JH7110 RISC-V 64 bits
SoC. See: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/STAR64.
This patch uses a custom Kernel and U-Boot made for this board. The
SPL has to be signed with the Starfive SPL-Tool which is a software
provided by the vendor to get the necessary headers on the SPL.
The image configuration is based on the work done by Ivan Velickovic
<i.velickovic@unsw.edu.au>.

The genimage.cfg modified by this commit used the partition-type-uuid
c12a7328-f81f-11d2-ba4b-00a0c93ec93b, which identifies the EFI System
Partition, for a partition that isn't the EFI System Partition, but
just a regular FAT partition, for which GUID
ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7 is more appropriate.
So we switch these to use partition-type-uuid = F, as it makes more
sense.
Please note that this commit introduces a difference in the resulting
output, as those partitions will now have a different GUID.

A defconfig for the rockpro64 was added in
59e1077b4e, but then removed
in 10f49213b7 because an ARM32
compiler was needed to build ATF, and this was not supported
back then.
Now, since package/arm-gnu-a-toolchain/ has been added, this
defconfig can be re-introduced.
Following new changes are introduced in comparision with the
older changeset:
- renamed defconfig from pine64_rockpro64 to rockpro64
- updated readme
- using a GPT partition layout
- update defconfig to build ATF
- bump u-boot to 2020.07
- bump linux to 5.8.2

[Arnout: fixate U-Boot version; remove blind BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_NEEDS_PYTHON]
This defconfig tries to build an ARM Trusted Firmware version that
needs an ARM32 toolchain, which is not available as the platform is an
ARM64 one. The correct solution for this is to have a package in
Buildroot for an ARM32 bare-metal toolchain, but this wasn't done in
time for the 2019.08 release.
In order to not release 2019.08 with a broken defconfig, let's remove
it. It can be re-added later once the ARM32 bare-metal toolchain
problem has been resolved.
